TheIndonesia.id - The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno has said an establishment of a creative hub in Sragen is necessary to support the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), especially as creative economy finds its revival momentum post-COVID pandemic.

During his visit to Sragen, Central Java, Uno admitted that players in the creative economy industry still finds a number of obstacles in developing their businesses, and the government can step in to provide relevant trainings and mentoring. And a creative hub is deemed necessary to facilitate the idea

“First and foremost, they need the government’s attention. We must collectively initiate a creative hub,” Uno said in a statement on Tuesday, May 17.

Once realized, the creative hub is expected to become a center that will provide a wide range of services needed by industry players, like permit related to food business.

Trainings on marketing, financial reporting, as well as funding are also planned to be offered to business owners.

“The government will facilitate, collaborate, and be present – [especially since] the enthusiasm is high,” Uno said.

The Ministry also acknowledged the potential of tourism and creative economy in Sragen. Therefore, alongside the Sragen local government, it will open Sragen Tourism Polytechnic that aims to produce quality graduates for the industry.

Talking about the efforts that focus on supporting the MSMEs, Uno said the government wants the national economy in the endemic phase to support small businesses.

“I’m optimistic that [the efforts] will improve the welfare of the community based on the new economic order. And as mandated by President Joko Widodo, we’re shifting from pandemic to endemic, but we side with MSMEs,” he concluded.
