TheIndonesia.id - Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport again serves additional international routes. This time from AirAsia airlines which serve Kuala Lumpur-Denpasar and Denpasar-Kuala Lumpur routes.

"We have additional international airlines that operate regularly every Monday and Friday on Kuala Lumpur-Denpasar-Kuala Lumpur route which first flew on March 21, 2022 yesterday," said General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura I for I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, Herry Sikado in Badung Regency, Bali, Tuesday, March 22, 2022.

On its inaugural flight, AirAsia flight number AK 376 on Kuala Lumpur-Denpasar route carried 106 passengers. Then, the plane returned to Kuala Lumpur Malaysia with flight number AK 377 which carried six passengers.

Herry Sikado said this route from AirAsia was the fifth international route served at Ngurah Rai Airport since the opening of the international flight corridor and the only airline that flies regularly on the Kuala Lumpur route. Airport Managers are optimistic that international flights at Bali Airport will continue to grow, supported by some policies for easing flight requirements by the government.

"For this reason, we must continue to maintain this trust by synergizing with stakeholders, where the main filter during the COVID-19 pandemic entered the Island of the Gods is I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport," he said.

From statistical data for the period March 2022, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport - Bali until March 21, 2022, has served as many as 13,275 international flight passengers, namely 8,950 passengers arriving and departing 4,325 passengers and 138 aircraft movements. With the increasing number of foreign tourists coming to Bali, the manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport will also continue to ensure service facilities so that the passenger arrival and departure process runs smoothly, especially in implementing health protocols to anticipate the spread of the pandemic.

"This is a positive hope for us in the aviation sector and the economy of the people of Bali Island, in the sense that I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport is starting to operate again serving international flights, along with tourism can also bounce back," said Herry Sikado.
